After I graduated from Parsons the New School for Design, I began working at DDB, a highly regarded global advertising firm, as an Assistant Account Executive. The account I worked on was Johnson and Johnson's beauty collective brands including RoC, Clean & Clear, and Lubriderm, with my main focus being RoC, the anti-aging skincare brand. Although I had never worked in advertising before accepting this position, I found great success in my role. My main duties included:

  • Competitive Expertise
    • Track all competitive activity across anti-aging skincare category. Monitor various sources (e.g. Competitrack, Ad Age, Mashable, blogs, etc.) for news & relevant client info/category trends beyond advertising activity. Provide weekly competitive updates Client and Agency partners that include analyses of communication and implications for RoC
  • Status Call
    • Be the go-to person for all questions pertaining to DDB projects. Manage updating status document prior to agency calls, lead status call for key DDB projects, become point person for questions pertaining to Digital, Social and Print project
  • Manage Budget and Billing
    • Open new estimates/job numbers, track POs, ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner. Alert client team when jobs are getting close to estimate and get overage approval asap.
  • Manage Print, TV, and Digital Production
    • Manage RoC Retinol Correxion product shoot from pre-pro to testing, optimization and release of final print ad. Work with brand media agency to facilitate any added value opportunities.
    • Help oversee TV post-production/editorial process for RoC Retinol Correxion TV. Develop and manage timelines for 2014 RoC TV tag production. Storyboard images below.

    • Manage all aspects of RoC website relaunch. Oversee creative development and production of RoC WebMD banners. Manage launch and implementation of RoC's new CRM program.

 

  • Relationship Building
    • Build relationships/partnerships with day to day and senior clients and agency partners so they depend on me for all requests/information and larger projects.   
    • Foster relationships with internal team such as creative directors, art directors, digital departments, strategy and planning, TV production
  • Social
    • Serve as RoC Facebook community manager
    • Work with Social Strategy team to develop strategy, monthly content plans, and manage posting for RoC Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/rocskincare/
    • Work with Strategist and Creative teams to develop new and relevant content for RoC user
    • Send out weekly updates on analytics with implications for future RoC content

    • Manage development of RoC digital strategy and cross channel plan
